Who is the greatest R&B group of ALL TIME ?

Hello there. I have made my pick. And that is the group,
Boyz II Men. From Philadelphia, PA. Who do you think
is the greatest R&B group of all time is ?

My favorite Male group will have to Boys II Men & my favorite female group will have to be SWV or En Vogue.



Boys II Men & En Vogue could really sing and harmonize their voices together, but SWV had a lot of good songs.



Boys II Men makes a lot of love songs and songs that has a lot of deep feelings to it. Them boys are real, nothing fake about them.



En Vogue & SWV is a tie. I would have said TLC but Lefteye rapped so they were not completely R&B girls.



And may I add that SWV is more memorable today than is En Vogue.



To the girl below me, you made a good point there. I'm 19 and I listen to old school music so I should've known better than this.



The Whispers is my favorite Male group and Diana Ross and the Supremes were my favorite female group. This is way back in the 70's them.



The Whispers are too damn romantic, and Diana Ross and the Supremes are who made En Vogue who they were. Them too were into fashion. The Supremes used to dress up now.



The Klymaxx, though was just as good and the Dramatics.

Boyz II Men were an excellent group...for their time. However, for someone like me, who grew up during the fabulous Motown era of the 60's, they could NEVER compete with the likes of The Temptations, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, or The Four Tops. In addition, there were groups outside of the realm of Motown, like The Dells, The Impressions, The Delfonics, & The Stylistics who also sang some of the greatest soul ballads EVER. So, in my humble opinion, the title of "Greatest R&B Group Of All Time" deserves to remain VACANT as it can NEVER be filled by any one group.
